Ashley Hatch was selected by North Carolina Courage as the second overall pick in the 2017 NWSL College Draft. Following the 2017 season, she was named 2017 NWSL Rookie of the Year after recording seven goals (including three game-winning goals) and one assist, which helped North Carolina Courage to win the 2017 NWSL Shield.
In October 2017, Ashley Hatch joined defending W-League champions Melbourne City for the 2017–18 W-League season.
