Glasgow City (2008–2012)
Evan signed with Glasgow City, a dominant team in the Scottish Women’s Premier League (SWPL), in August 2008. She made her first team debut in 2009 while playing for the club’s reserve squad, who went on to win the second division with a perfect record.
Evans was also one of the first students to be awarded a scholarship at the National Women’s Football Academy at the University of Stirling by the Scottish FA. Evans pursued a degree in Sports Science.
Glasgow City won the Scottish Women’s Cup three times (in 2009, 2011, and 2012), the Scottish Women’s Premium League four times (from 2009 to 2012), and the SWPL Cup twice (in 2009 and 2012) when she was a member of the team. Evans was also named Young Player of the Year by Glasgow City in 2011.

Evans was seen during Turbine Potsdam's 17–0 UEFA Women’s Champions League aggregate victory against Glasgow City in February 2012, and the German women’s Bundesliga champions sent an invitation for Evans to try out. She was reported to have inked a professional deal with Potsdam on June 12, 2012.
Evans's contract was extended for an additional two years in December 2012; Turbine's veteran coach Bernd Schröder expressed his admiration for Evans's start at the time of the extension, saying, "It means we're able to secure the long-term services of a player who has developed a lot over the last few weeks and months." Evans played on a squad that finished second in the league and the DFB-Pokal Frauen in her first year at Potsdam (2012)–13. The following year, in 2014–15, the team made it to the Pokal finals once again. She played 41 games throughout the regular season and scored 7 goals before leaving Potsdam.
Munich (from 2015 to 2017)
Evans announced in April 2015 that she had signed a three-year deal with FC Bayern Munich, Turbine's Frauen-Bundesliga opponents, which would start the following season. Evans went on to lead Bayern to victory in the 2015–16 Frauen-Bundesliga and second place the following season.
Additionally, the squad advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2016–17 UEFA Women's Champions League and the Round of 32 in the 2015–16 competition. Evans made 32 appearances in the regular season while at Bayern, scoring twice.
Arsenal from 2017 until 2022
On June 29, 2017, Evans became an Arsenal player. Evans was sometimes used as a full-back by coach Joe Montemurro due to injuries and competition for spots in her regular playing position: "I've enjoyed playing right-back, even though I alternate between left wing and right." I've improved as a player overall because of that." In December 2018, she signed a contract extension with the FA WSL team.
Evans participated in 18 regular-season games for Arsenal in her debut season there in 2017–18, scoring two goals. She also went on to win the WSL Cup and be a finalist for the Women's FA Cup. She played in another eighteen regular-season games during her second season with the team, which saw Arsenal win the FA WSL and place second in the WSL Cup.
On March 31, 2019, Evans participated in her 50th game overall for the team against Birmingham City W.F.C.; Arsenal prevailed 1-0 to earn a spot in the Champions League for the first time since 2014. In October 2011, Evans played her first game for the Scotland national team against Wales. Evans’ maiden goal for her country came in a 5-0 friendly victory against Northern Ireland in Belfast in February 2012. She was a member of the team that lost the qualification play-off game in the last seconds, barely missing out on qualifying for the UEFA Women’s Euro 2013.
During Scotland’s UEFA qualifying campaign for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2015, Evans scored three goals. Scotland went to the UEFA play-offs after finishing second in their qualifying group, however, they were eliminated by the Netherlands.
For the first time, Scotland made it to the European Championship in 2017. Evans played in each of the three group games for Scotland during their 2017 European Championship campaign. After winning their group, they went on to automatically qualify for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup. On May 15, 2019, Evans was added to the Scottish World Cup roster.
